This conceptual illustration explores the intersection of faith, global communication, and ancient wisdom in our digital world.

Thank you for revisiting my writing today. Cherry blossoms have opened their flowers, enriching the atmosphere in Tokyo cities. I am sorry that I could not post my writings for several days, because I was busy with my part time job, in which I help organizing events for high school student having come from abroad.

Anyways, what I was writing in the last post was the relationship between AI and religion. Since I felt like the emergence the Internet has changed ways in which we get information around the world, because we are now able to gather almost all the information available online. Combined with AIs, each person tends to encounter particular information that each person has interests in through the Internet, possibly contributing to the formation of biased thoughts within each self. And I think there may be a link between this situation we are experiencing in relation with the Internet and how humanity has formed religious beliefs.

One point that they have in common is their nature. I believe that most of our thoughts and behaviors have been formed when we were child, and the environment has played a crucial role. For example, if I were to born in another country, I would have belonged to different religion, had different opinions on social matters, and acquired different etiquette. If I were to born in another family, I would have had experienced different rules in the house, leading to different norms in my life cycle. It is important to notice that we would have been completely different person if we grew up in a different environment. Therefore, if a family believed in a religion, it is likely that a child in the family will be surrounded by an environment related to the religion, leading to the creation of standards in the child which is close to the religious belief. Suppose that the majority of families living in the same region believe in the same religion, the social norms in each household can become similar, contributing to the larger form of standards in the region.

In the world of the Internet, each person tends to be subject to particular information due to the AI algorithm. Therefore, one’s perception is likely to be formed though everyday exposure to similar information. It is possible to create a group chat with people having similar interests, and some people possibly spend a lot of hours chatting with those friends. Even if they do not participate in such a platform, it is likely to form a group of friends with similar interests in the real life. I mean this is how human beings have formed groups and survived on the earth, so it does not seem to be a concerning fact to create a group with friends having similarities. Although I agree with the argument, I would like to remind that the emergence of the Internet and its combination with AI has made the eagerness to connected with similar people among younger generations. Therefore, I would like to claim that generation Z and alpha is likely to form stronger bonds with people having the same interests using the power of the Internet, leading to more exposure on information related to their interests. This is likely to contribute to the formation of new standards within the group, influencing the thoughts and beliefs of the group members in multiple ways.

To summarize up, both religion and the Internet combined with AI power can affect one’s thoughts and beliefs through exposing an individual to a particular environment for a long time. In this way, I would like to conclude that religion and the Internet situation we are currently experiencing is somehow similar.

I would like to continue writing this topic further in the next piece of writing. Thank you for reading today’s writing till the end, and I hope you will do well today and tomorrow!

Please feel free to leave any comments on my writing, including how do you think AI can affect ways in which humans form opinions.

See you!
